Pets at Home is holding a nationwide fundraising weekend to raise money for the charity Cats Protection

The feline welfare charity will be encouraging people to visit their local Pets at Home store from 7 to 9 June to find out more about cats and generate some much needed funds.

George Lingwood, retail operations director at Pets at Home, said: “We really enjoy hosting these types of fundraising events and we are hoping this will be a success nationwide. Our customers are always very generous and share our passion for pets, so I know they will donate what they can.”

Stores across the country will be holding various family activities to attract visitors and will be offering customers the opportunity to ‘round up to a pound’ at the till, taking donations and selling Cats Protection Paw Print pin badges. With all money raised used to help unwanted and abandoned cats whilst they wait to find loving new homes.

Richard Howard, partnership fundraiser for Cats Protection who helps over 235,000 cats and kittens a year, commented: “There will be lots of exciting freebies at selected stores and all of them will be giving away free children’s cat masks so hurry along to make sure you get yours while stocks last.”

For information on making a donation or adopting a cat, please visit the Cats Protection website at www.cats.org.uk
