Oscar Pet Foods has announced it is looking to expand its network of franchisees across the UK.

The move has come as the demand for the safe home-delivery of pet food has increased during the pandemic.

The group added that self-employment through its business would present a “fantastic opportunity to combine a successful business venture with much-needed community support”.

The pet food manufacturer said it had been “fortunate” to keep its doors open as an essential business during the pandemic, and was “delighted to be continuing its busy service” to pet owners across the UK.

The firm has adopted safe and contactless delivery in light of the ongoing pandemic, and its own nutritional advisors are supporting local communities by delivering pet food and pet care supplies to thousands across the UK.

In its latest update, the manufacturer said it had recently seen an increasing number of new customers, with many now working or self-isolating from home.

In addition to supplying and delivering pet care supplies and accessories, Oscar Local Advisors are professionally trained to give evidence-based support and advice to pet owners during lockdown.

With bespoke nutritional qualifications, and head office backing from experts in veterinary, behavioural and nutritional care, the group said the advisors are “well placed to solve many pet-care worries for anxious pet owners during this pandemic”.

In its latest statement, the manufacturer said: “Over the past few months, the world has changed beyond recognition.

“Words such as self-isolating, social distancing and lockdown have become part of our everyday narrative and lives that have sadly been lost are never far from our thoughts.”
