Pet product manufacturer Benebone has appointed Lionel Arous as head of European strategy and sales. 

Arous will oversee the development of distribution networks and retail execution throughout the continent.

Arous joins the firm with more than 30 years of experience in sales and business development. 

He most recently spent 12 years as a global business development manager representing pet brands in the European market.

The appointment follows roles at AgroBiothers Laboratoire, where Arous established the company’s export department. 

He also previously served as commercial director at the startup Alter-Ego for 11 years. Arous began his career in the financial sector at L’Epargne de France. 

His new role at Benebone focuses on building sustainable partnerships with distributors and expanding the brand’s presence in new territories.

In a LinkedIn post, Benebone said: “Lionel brings deep experience working alongside distributors and retailers across Europe, with a real understanding of what it takes to build strong, sustainable businesses on the ground.

As we continue to grow in Europe, his focus will be on supporting our partners, strengthening retail execution, and helping bring Benebone to even more dogs (and their humans). The company stated the appointment is intended to support its growth strategy and strengthen relationships with European retail partners.”
