A new peanut butter-based dog treat has been rolled out in Pets at Home stores across the UK.

Peamutt Butter Balls, developed by Manchester-based F. Duerr and Sons are now available in-store and via Amazon

The protein-rich snacks are made from the company’s dog-friendly peanut butter, along with peanuts, chia seeds and apple purée. They are free from grain, gluten and palm oil.

Peamutt Butter first launched to market eight years ago and the new launch follows 63% year on year growth (2022 to 2023), the brand is now worth c. £2m retail value.

The balls are designed as an on-the-go snack or training treat, with a mouldable texture that allows tablets to be hidden inside.

According F. Duerr and Sons, the treat offers a “high protein” option for use in agility or training sessions.

Founded in 1881, F. Duerr and Sons is the UK’s largest producer of peanut butter. The firm launched Peamutt Butter to provide a vegan, pet-safe version of the spread.

The news comes after the group expanded its Peamutt Butter dog treat range with a new squeezable version, Peamutt Squeezy, launching exclusively in Pets at Home stores across the UK
