European pet food producer Vafo Praha has appointed Jan Brejcha as its new marketing director.
Brejcha is an experienced marketing leader, who throughout his career at both the local and international levels has helped boost the equity, market share, and financial results of a number of important brands in FMCG.
At Vafo, he will be responsible for the marketing team and its ongoing development of the brands Brit, Carnilove and others, which the company exports to more than 85 countries around the world.
Brejcha is a graduate of the University of West Bohemia. Throughout a career spanning more than 20 years, several of which he spent in Great Britain, he spearheaded successful marketing campaigns for renowned brands such as Coca-Cola, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Mars, and Mondelēz.
Before joining Vafo, he was the director of marketing with the German retailer chain Lidl.
Brejcha said: “I’ve spent over twenty years working for the largest brands in FMCG, both here at home and abroad. I’ve been fortunate with opportunities, thanks to which I’ve gained experience and skills in a wide range of areas, not just in marketing.
“And when the chance arose to put all of that to use and become a business development partner in a private Czech company with an amazing product, beautiful brands, wonderful people, and big international ambitions. The decision was obvious. Moreover, at home we’ve got three adopted dogs, so, as they say, it’s a matter of the heart for me.”
Jakub Majer, CEO Vafo Praha, added: “I’m thrilled to welcome aboard a person of Jan’s calibre. I’m confident he’s going to make a significant contribution to our transformation into a marketing powerhouse with multiple brands, while elevating our key products to the status of European market leaders.”
