Denzel’s is marking ‘Plastic Free July’ by making all its packaging plastic-free and planting a tree to replace the materials used for their eco-friendly packaging.

The pet treat brand is now packing its goods in materials made from wood pulp, cellulose and paper from sustainably grown trees.

The packing will also “naturally biodegrade” within 30 weeks in landfill, not 300 years like single-use plastics packs.

In addition, Denzel’s is also working with the non-profit organisation Ecologi to sustainably plant trees, replacing the materials they use for its packaging.

To celebrate, Denzel’s will plant a tree for every order on their website, as well as for every pack sold from selected retailers including; Sainsbury’s, Ocado and BP.

Nathan Perry, co-founder and managing director at Denzel’s, said: “It’s really important to us to be a sustainable eco-friendly brand and going completely plastic-free with our packaging is something we really wanted to do. We want this to set a standard for other pet brands to hopefully follow.”

Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the “solution to plastic pollution”.
