Pet insurance team cycle 510 miles for animal charities

Member of Team Agria have cycled the 510-mile Extra Mile Challenge all in the name of charity.

The  three-day challenge saw the Agria cyclists ride in relay across the French route for their four chosen charities; Dogs for Good in Association with Stocklake Park School (MASKS), Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Medical Detection Dogs and Pets as Therapy.

This is the 5th year Agria has entered teams into the event, and with four Agria teams taking part, 2017 was the biggest year yet.

Simon Wheeler’s (Agria’s MD) team led the pack throughout much of the event, despite the challenge of total ride elevations exceeding a very steep 26,000 feet.

Simon says, “Brittany is not as flat as we thought! It has been a challenging, but immensely satisfying, three days of cycling thanks to our tough team members and the incredible boost we all felt from riding in support of such life-changing charities.”

The Extra Mile Challenge is special as every single penny raised by Team Agria goes to charity, with all expenses paid by the cyclists themselves.

“Every member of the team would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that’s donated already; we’re so grateful for your support. We’re now over our aches and pains but are still raising money for our charities in a bid to smash our £5,000 target – with a few mini events planned to help us get there!” says Simon.

There’s still time to sponsor the cyclists! If you can help Team Agria reach their target of £5,000 for their nominated charities, you can donate at www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Agria.Charity.2017.
