More than 600 veterinary professionals travelling from 61 countries recently came together to explore āFeline Medicine in the 21st Centuryā at ROYAL CANINās latest Vet Symposium.
The two-day convention was hosted near to ROYAL CANINās head office in Montpellier, France. It allowed delegates to attend both clinical and practice management lectures, take part in networking events and take a tour of the ROYAL CANIN campus, including its production facility and central R&D centre, responsible for food quality and safety standards across the companyās wide network.
Scientific talks were based on feline medicine, including CKD, constipation, chronic D+, cat ethogram, soiling and multicat households. Delegates also attended practice management talks, where they learned about cat friendly practice strategies, vet clinic business models, how to deal with tricky customers and digital media. All of these lectures are available to view on https://vetsympo.fr/2017/.
Lee Danks MRCVS, ROYAL CANINās Scientific Affairs Manager, said: āThese events are made special not only due to the combined clinical and management lecture streams, but more so because of the networking opportunities they offer.
āThe UK and Irish attendees were able to compare notes and ābest practiceā with vets from all corners of the globe, as well as rub shoulders with internationally renowned experts. I took part in a couple of workshops myself, which made us all think twice about how to approach clinical cases and refine our senior cat offering here in the UK.ā
āThe feedback weāve received has been fantastic, with a lot of guests expressing that theyāve gained ideas on how to implement positive changes in their clinics. It is generally a great opportunity to share new concepts and ideas, as well as make new friends.ā
