Elizabeth Murray has been named general counsel and company secretary for UK-based Wyevale Garden Centres.

Previously, Murray worked as a lawyer at in-house positions and in private practice in London, Manchester and Birmingham. She has focused on finance law. Murray has had in-house jobs for the utilities, alcohol and IT sectors, as well as the central government and became a solicitor in 1987, reports Inside Counsel.

Her appointment follows the business naming its new CEO in March.

“We have established a clear national brand, grown the business, modernized our stores to make them even more appealing to customers, expanded our product ranges and developed an award-winning restaurant offer,” Stephen Murphy, chair of Wyevale Garden Centres, said in March.

“We’re very pleased to announce that Elizabeth Murray has been appointed as general counsel and company secretary for Wyevale Garden Centres,” a company spokesperson said in a statement. “We’re very happy to welcome her to the team and know that her extensive in-house experience, including two years at Focus DIY, will be invaluable.”
