The first episode of the BBC 2 television series, Choose the Right Puppy for You, will be aired at 8pm on May 9.
The series follows five families’ search for a suitable pet. Springwatch presenter and dog-owner Kate Humble and animal behaviourist Louise Glazebrook offer advice on choosing the perfect pooch.
The programme will tackle issues such as dogs’ energy levels, hair shedding and the cost of ownership for different breeds.
