Pet trade professionals are, in general, passionate about animal care. But, do we know how non-industry members view vets’ commitment and dedication? A new survey asked the public to share their opinions.
A recent ICM opinion poll asked over 2000 members of the public how much they trusted the veterinary profession. A whopping 94 percent of people said they trusted vets either ‘generally’ or ‘completely’.
The omnibus survey was commissioned as part of the Vet Futures project, which is jointly powered by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and British Veterinary Association (BVA).
The results showed that more people in Britain placed their trust in vets than in GPs, dentists or head teachers. Only opticians (95 percent) and pharmacists (97 percent) received a higher vote of confidence. The survey also found that 78 percent of people using veterinary services are either satisfied or very satisfied with the level of service they receive.
