Surrey Vet Physio produces instructional videosA freelance veterinary physiotherapist has produced a series of instructional videos, showing stretching exercises and massage techniques used in her physiotherapy sessions.

Helen Morrell is a fully qualified, regulated and insured veterinary physiotherapist who offers a mobile service for horses, dogs and cats across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire. During Helen’s sessions, owners are often given stretches and exercises that they can do with their animals to help promote recovery, and it is this that is shown on the videos.

“We’ve all been in the situation where, at the time, we fully understand a given task but, the next day, when we come to do it, there are a few grey areas,” Helen commented.

“This can be very frustrating, especially when you know how important it is to do the task correctly, and that’s the same with massage and stretches. I often leave my customers with exercises they can do with their horse or dog, and I feel that the videos are a great back up to this. They show how to do the stretches with helpful audio that explains exactly what should be done. Of course, I’m always at the end of the phone to offer additional help, but sometimes a picture, or a moving picture in the case of video, can do the job much better!”
