Ancol’s Christmas giveaway helps thousands of dogs and cats

A pet accessories company has gone the extra mile this Christmas in donating beds, toys, collars and leads – in the hope of benefiting thousands of dogs and cats across the country.

Ancol pet accessories company has donated the products to Dogs Trust rehoming centres and Cat Protection shelters across the country out of surplus stock from its pink pet product range, which itself has raised more than £30,000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

In addition, Birmingham Dogs Home’s two centres in Birmingham city centre and Sunnyside in Wolverhampton, as well as City Dogs Home in Stoke-On-Trent, will all benefit from the giveaways.

Karen Doy, Sunnyside home manager, was delighted when Ancol paid her a visit last week, commenting: “I would like to say a big thank you to Ancol for donating the beds, collars, leads and toys – it’s much appreciated. We are going to sell the items to new owners to take home with their dog.”

Ancol’s sales director Sarah Lane explained that surplus from the pink pet product range is a great way to help other charities, too. “As we have some items left over we thought it would be a great idea to donate them to animal charities, so they can benefit dogs and cats nationwide. Thank you to all our retailers who have supported this project.”
