PetsPyjamas launches campaign for hospitality sector

PetsPyjamas is calling on dog owners to help generate £2bn for the hospitality industry by taking holidays in the UK this year.

The pet travel company said that the amount could be generated if 10% of the UK’s 9.9 million dog owners took a regional holiday in 2020.

In light of this, it has now launched the ‘We’re Barking Britain’ campaign in a bid to encourage dog owners to boost the hospitality sector.

The group has now introduced ‘Barking Britain’ holidays packages at more than 120 dog-friendly hotels and self-catering properties across the UK.

The package also includes local produce or local experiences, with all stays adhering to high safety and hygiene measures, including contactless check ins, deep room cleans and social distancing in bars and restaurants.

Additionally, all packages come with up to £120 worth of benefits, including no charge for dogs, a free vetline from PawSquad, and access to the PetsPyjamas VIP club, ‘Priority Paws’. 

PetsPyjamas co-Founder and CEO, Karen Hanton, said: “The hospitality industry has been particularly hard hit in recent months, and with summer abroad lacking its usual appeal, there’s never been a better time to discover all the UK has to offer. 

“Through our ‘We’re Barking Britain’ campaign, we hope to rally up the nation’s dog owners to help get the country back on its four feet and reward our dogs for their emotional support during the lockdown with new adventures with their favourite human.”
