Veterinary group Scarsdale Vets has joined Independent Vetcare (IVC), a group focused on investment and innovation in vetcare, which currently has 813 practices in the UK and Ireland.

Scarsdale has practices based in and around Derbyshire and Staffordshire, including Pride Referral Hospital.

John Turkington, senior partner of Scarsdale said: “Over the last few months we’ve been looking for the right ‘home’ for our group – and how Pride Referrals, our Farm & Equine Practice and our network of small animal first-opinion clinics would continue to run going forwards was very much at the forefront of our minds.

“Our diligence led us to conclude that IVC’s reputation for clinical excellence and keeping things relatively autonomous at a practice level, was truly deserved and we are convinced that this decision is in the best interests of all our staff and clients”.

Paul Cowling, UK CEO of IVC, added: We’re delighted that Scarsdale have chosen to join us on our journey to develop a fantastic network of clinics and hospitals across the country, united in our common desire to deliver first class veterinary care, both to first opinion and referral clients.”

The news comes after Scarsdale opened its 11th practice in Wollaton last month.
