Pet food manufacturer, Mackle Petfoods has announced its first official charity partnerships, worth almost £11,000, with six animal welfare and rescue organisations across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The chosen charities are Limerick Feral Cats, Fairyglen in Roscommon, Animal Aid Donegal, North Dublin Cat Rescue, Cats Aid Dublin and Lucy’s Trust in County Antrim.

Interim marketing manager at Mackle Petfoods, Laura Rafferty said: “We know how much our customers love and care for their pets, however not every cat or dog is lucky enough to have a home where they are well looked after.

“In recognition of the invaluable work animal rescue charities carry out, much of which is done by volunteers, we have selected six charities with whom we will support over the next year through donations of food, improving awareness of their work and hopefully taking some of the fundraising pressure off them so they can focus on looking after and/or finding homes for the animals in their care.

“Rather than focusing on one larger charity, the multiple partner model will allow us to maximise our impact over the next 12 months.”
