Nylabone has launched its ‘Love Our Oceans Collection’, a new range of dog chew toys made from 30% repurposed abandoned fishing nets to support ocean cleanup.
The collection uses over 100,000 pounds of ocean-bound nylon repurposed into durable chew toys, which the Central Garden and Pet-owned brand said promote dogs’ natural chewing habits while combatting waste.
Using the reclaimed materials, the company has produced over 1.5 million of the toys, which come in five different variations across shape, texture and flavour:
Infinity Braid Bone: A braided design based on bully sticks that serves as a mess- and grease-free alternative with bold bully stick flavor. Available in Small and Medium.
Barbell: An easy-grip shape that features textured ends that help clean teeth and includes bacon flavor. Available in Medium.
Textured Fish: An ocean-inspired shape that features salmon flavor and textures meant to engage. Available in Medium.
Teddy Bear Bone: An easy-hold shape that offers beef jerky flavor and teeth-cleaning textures. Available in Large.
Frenzy Bone: A classic bone shape that combines “ocean-inspired” textures with bacon and cheese flavor. Available in X-Large.
Nylabone said the fresh line reflects its persistent dedication to “high-quality, more sustainable” products.
Glen S. Axelrod, president and CEO of Nylabone Products, said: “With our headquarters located just a few miles from New Jersey’s beaches, helping to keep the ocean clean is a cause that hits close to home. This chew toy collection reflects our commitment to innovation by using materials that support sustainability while maintaining the durability and quality that dogs and pet parents expect.”
