Pet healthcare company Itch has launched a grab-and-go version of its flea treatment in 400 Sainsbury’s Local stores across the UK.

The rollout, running from June to September, aims to give shoppers easier access to pet health products during the peak flea season.

It follows a wider launch of Itch’s flea and worm treatments in 472 larger Sainsbury’s stores in June 2024 – a move the company said had “exceeded expectations”.

The new clip strip format is designed for visibility and convenience, allowing customers to pick up vet-approved flea treatments while shopping for groceries.

Jonny Gould, chief executive, said: “Making flea and worm treatment effortless has always been our mission. We’re excited to extend our presence into Sainsbury’s Local stores, giving even more pet parents access to fast, effective flea protection at their convenience.”

Itch said it is continuing to focus on innovation and customer convenience, combining clinically tested products with digital and retail partnerships. The move supports Sainsbury’s wider health and wellness push for pet care.
