Skinner’s donates over £10,000 in dog food to UK rescue centres

Suffolk-based manufacturer, Skinner’s Pet Foods, said it was proud to support rescue centres throughout the UK with over £10,000 of dog food this Christmas.

The company drew out a handful of rescue centres at random to donate a pallet of Field & Trial Turkey & Rice. The rescue centres included, Caring 4 Canines in Haughley (pictured left) which houses 101 dogs, Whitehall Dog Kennels (Wakefield), Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue (Dumfries), Babbington Rescue (Nottingham), Forest Dog Rescue (Kidderminster), Teckels Animal Sanctuaries (Gloucester) and Meadow Green (Norwich).

Each pallet donated by Skinner’s would retail in excess of £1,500 making the total donated this Christmas over £10,000 and feeding almost 300 dogs.

Sarah Fortey, assistant manager of Teckels Animal Sanctuaries said: “We always prefer to give our rescue animals a good balanced diet whilst in our care, and it’s great that we have a good supply of Field & Trial Turkey & Rice to use for the year ahead. We thank Skinner’s for their support and generous donation”.

Skinner’s Pet Foods sales and marketing director, William Delamore added: “Christmas is a special time to many people, and this should be no different for dogs in rescue centres. We wanted to help make a difference for these dogs by providing them with a Turkey & Rice dinner from our very own Field & Trial Range.

“We realise that it’s not just Christmas when rescue centres need donations of food, so that is why, from January 2019, we are giving our customers the chance to vote on our Facebook page monthly for a charity they would like us to donate to.”

Skinner’s Field & Trial range is currently stocked in over 2,000 independent pet stores, country stores and most online retailers.
