Sandwich Animal Feeds up for sale

Sandwich Animal Feeds in Sandwich, Kent, has been put up for sale for an asking price of £110,000.

The business sells food for a variety of animals and pets, as well as toys, leads, and training equipment.

There is also a sales area which is dedicated solely to selling horse riding equipment.

The business was established by the current owner, Amanda Lambert, 32 years ago and has been supplying many long-time customers in the area since its opening in 1991.

There is scope for a new owner to seek supply agreements with local stables and kennels and expand supply offerings for more exotic pets and animals.

Lambert now wishes to sell the business as she intends to retire.

Lambert said: “I started the business 32 years ago and it has evolved from just a small feed shop to a much larger outlet that sells feed and accessories for domestic and farm animals.

“Some of my customers who shopped with me at the beginning still shop with me today; knowing that they have made the effort to stay and support a local business for all this time shows what a great community we have around us.”

She added: “In turn, the suppliers that we buy from we have used for many years, so there are long-standing relationships from both sides of the business. We pride ourselves on the fact that the staff and I are all very knowledgeable on what we do and what products we offer, and if we do not know the answer to a question we will endeavour to find out. We give a personal touch so that all customers feel they are special.”
