The Atkinsons Pet Store in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, has announced that it is closing down and moving to a fully mobile offering.

Owners, Jack and Carly Atkinson took to Facebook to confirm the closure, admitting that the decision “wasn’t easy” but one the pair “had to make”.

It is understood that the store, which sells pet supplies, only opened last August.

As part of the rebrand, the mobile store will be renamed as ‘Let’s Play FETCH and the Atkinsons’ and will now sell its goods via a mobile store.

A statement read: “You may have heard the news we are closing the store. This decision wasn’t easy for us but its one we had to make. We will however, be taking the shop fully mobile. We know this isn’t ideal for everyone but we would still like to offer our services to you, our valued customers.

“We will be out posting our new leaflets for our new mobile pet store. If you would like one through your door, you can let us know – either by private message or by text. Thank you for your continued support through these hard times.”
