Mongrel London has announced the launch of a new hard-wearing and eco-friendly canvas dog toy.

The Canvas Dog Bone is said to be long-lasting and durable, and is available in three colours: coal, leaf and natural.

The squeaky canvas bones are filled with stuffing made out of recycled plastic bottles, rather than polyfibre. As polyfibre is made using fossil fuels, cannot be recycled and sheds “harmful” microfibres, Mongrel London said it is “excited to be one of the few dog brands putting an end to this usage”.

The toys are made from strong, double stitched canvas material with a secondary inner lining to give an extra barrier of defence between dogs and the stuffing.

According to the manufacturer, they are also designed to “fit seamlessly and inoffensively in your home, office, pub and anywhere else you and your sidekick might find yourselves”.

In addition, they are machine washable and feature a secondary, interior “pillow-case” lining to give an extra barrier of defense should a dog pierce the canvas.

All toys have passed EN71 safety tests.

Mongrel London added that 10% from every purchase of the toy will be donated to the Wild at Heart Foundation, a charity dedicated to reducing the world’s 600 million stray dog population.
