Rescue Pet of the Year 2017 is designed to build awareness for rescue centres and the cats and dogs they care for and rehome, as well as driving business into the specialist pet sector in an active example of the company’s ‘animal first’ philosophy.
Owners who have rehomed a dog or cat from rescue can enter now via ROYAL CANIN®’s website, with news promoted across all social media. Entries must include a photo of the dog or cat, and a 250 word description of his or her story.
Entry closes at on July 9, with the announcement of ten cat and ten dog finalists selected from the entries. The public can then vote for their favourite by visiting http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3499746/Rescue-Pet-of-the-Year-2017 between 24-31 July. The winners will be announced during the first week of August.
Prizes include a hamper of ROYAL CANIN® goodies for the feline and canine winners, and the rescue centres they came from will receive food to feed up to 50 cats or dogs for a month.
ROYAL CANIN® has an ongoing relationship with numerous dog and cat rescue centres across the UK, with the objective of supporting animal welfare and also bringing new owners into the specialist pet trade.
