Medication and money stolen from vets

Animal medication and money from a guide dog charity box has been stolen from vet practices.

Sanders Vets in Cwmbran has been targeted twice within one week and Riverside Veterinary Centre in Ebbw Vale targeted a few days later, reports WalesOnline.

A quantity of animal medication has been stolen from both premises, including Libronide and Pegnisolone Tablets, Milbimex and Droncit worming tablets.

A charity box was taken from both practices and the box at Sanders Vet was to collect money for a guide dog charity.

The incidents happened between June 3 and June 13.

Detective inspector Amanda Thomas said: “I want to remind people that these drugs can be lethal to humans and we’re warning anyone who comes into contact with these, that if consumed, they could potentially be putting their life in danger.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered these drugs or knows of anyone offered the drugs.”

“I’d also like to ask anyone who has any information on these burglaries to please call 101 immediately, quoting the log number or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“At this moment in time we do not believe the incidents are related but enquiries are ongoing.”
