Pets Country Manor to operate as feline food bank

The manor, which is situated in Tarbock Green, Knowsley, said that all cat food donations will be divided up between local Merseyside cat rescue centres and dropped off to each rescue centre every month

The Pets Country Manor has announced it will begin operating as a feline food bank, accepting donations of both wet and dry cat food and treats.

The manor, which is situated in Tarbock Green, Knowsley and is a five star rated luxury hotel for cats, said that all cat food donations will be divided up between local Merseyside cat rescue centres and dropped off to each rescue centre each month.

The cat hotel boasts rooms of up to 400 sq ft, with each room featuring a private heated bedroom and an individual playroom complete, with a five tier ceiling height climbing wall of 25 sq ft and either a sunrise or sunset view from panoramic windows.

Victoria Corcoran and Craig Hailes, who run the Pets Country Manor, said they have seen the hotel bookings “drastically suffer” due to Covid-19 and the restrictions on travel.

They said: “We’re normally fully booked between the months of May-September plus over Christmas, with over 100 cats to look after everyday but this year like a lot of businesses its been a very different and difficult year.”

The couple have also launched a sister company called Kitty Hampurrs.com to help keep staff employed. Kitty Hampurrs is an online business that offers a wide range of hampers for both cats and their owners.

Customers can choose from a pre-designed hamper or choose individual items to create their own bespoke hamper.
