Women go barking mad for their pets on holiday, reveals Skyscanner

Travel search site, Skyscanner, has revealed that female dog owners miss their pets more than their partners, friends or family.

The company surveyed over 1,000 dog owners and found that, while 37 per cent of men would miss their partner the most if they were on holiday without them, only 21 per cent of women said the same, with 37 per cent missing their dog instead.

Results also showed that as many as 40 per cent call or text from holiday to check that their pet is OK and 14 per cent admitted to ‘chatting’ to their dog by phone, so that it can hear their voice. Six per cent also sent their pet a postcard, while three per cent of dog owners actually admitted to cutting their holiday short and returning home early as they missed their dog.
