Since its launch at PATS Harrogate last year, SureFlap’s pet door for larger cats and small dogs has proved popular with the trade. Designed with both pets in mind, the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door keeps even the most persistent intruders at bay and features the company’s renowned microchip technology. Inventor Dr Nick Hill says that many enhancements have been made to the original design such as the introduction of a curfew mode to specify the times the door is locked or open; strengthening the locking design so bigger and stronger pets can use the door every day; and improvements to the performance of the microchip reader. As Nick explains: “As the nose-to-chip distance can vary greatly in dogs of different sizes and shapes, the range of the reader will come into its own with the new pet door.” The SureFlap Microchip Pet Door is compatible with all international formats of identification microchip and includes the company’s trademark integral tunnel offering a sleek profile and wide read area detecting pets as they approach from any direction.
