An animal lover is aiming to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in aid of a global animal charity.

In February 2014, Jade Abbott will attempt to climb 5,895m across four climate zones for Luke Gamble’ Worldwide Veterinary Services (WVS) charity, which helps injured, homeless and forgotten animals all over the world.

Jade’s climb will see her face temperatures as high as 30°C and as low as -20°C.

“[Both] physically and mentally tiring, it will be one of the biggest challenges I could have taken on,” she remarked.

The WVS treated 15,593 animals, sent 600 parcels and deployed 63 teams to animal charities across the world during 2012.

“They are a small UK-based charity with a big heart,” said Jade.

“I really admire their amazing work and that is why I have chosen to do this challenge for them.”
