Second Virtual Petindex takes place

The second Virtual Petindex took place last week (11 October), providing the industry with a “much needed” opportunity for exhibitors to showcase new products and meet customers.

The virtual show will continue until 26 October. The first two ‘live’ days of the event enabled visitors to speak with exhibitors and view two live debates.

The show hosts over 70 stands from the UK and overseas, including countries such as the USA, Japan, Germany, Canada, New Zealand and Switzerland.

Visitors can view 30 different webinars in the show’s virtual ‘auditorium’, while ‘live’ show days saw visitors vote for their favourite pet products, which were displayed on the New Product stands.

The winners on each stand were: DoggyRade, Broadreach Nature – Vision Berry, Betty Miller – Fresh Dog Treats, Aqueous Hand Sanitiser Foam, Collarways Rumbl Treat Ball and Weenect GPS Tracker.

These products will now go forward to be judged by a panel of experts from the pet industry to determine the overall New Product Award winner.

The winner will be announced at the virtual Pet Industry Awards ceremony, set to take place on Monday 9 November.

Nigel Baker, CEO of the Pet Industry Federation, organisers of the event, said: ‘We have been really pleased with the success of VPI, our second virtual event.

“The show is on-going and registered visitors can continue to access an unrivalled webinar schedule and visit a diverse range of exhibitors once they have logged onto the VPI platform.”

He added: “In addition, each exhibitor has already received an initial report and visitor analysis from the ‘live’ days tailored to their stand to enable them to maximise the opportunities gained from the show.”

The next Virtual Petindex will take place in March 2021, with a discount available for exhibitors who sign up early.
