Royal Canin UK and Ireland has announced the appointment of Greg Pitts as specialist pet trade sales and marketing director for its UK division.

Pitts will replace May Philpott, who has moved to a new role within the Royal Canin Global team.

Pitts previously worked in account management at GSK, before moving to Danone where he worked in both sales and category management across several units.

Prior to joining Royal Canin, he held various commercial leadership roles in the SME environment in both the yoghurt and fresh produce categories.

Jimmy Park, general manager of Royal Canin UK and Ireland, said: “Greg will be a great asset to our UK Retail team as they continue their journey to deliver health through nutrition and to make a better world for pets.”

Pitts added: “It’s inspiring to be joining a team that clearly lives and breathes its purpose everyday through its passion, enthusiasm and knowledge.

“I look forward to working with the team and our partners to continue our journey of bringing health through nutrition to many more cats and dogs.”
