The Pet Industry Federation is increasing its international activity to help domestic pet businesses secure commercial opportunities overseas.
The trade body is developing a network of foreign partnerships following discussions with commercial exhibition organisers across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Sponsoring groups designed the framework to help British manufacturers, distributors, and retail brands access new international markets.
The federation has conducted discussions with major global trade events including Global Pet Expo, SuperZoo, Zoomark, and Interzoo.
To support the corporate project, the organisation has launched a dedicated international trade section on its corporate website.
The trade group is currently gathering commercial expressions of interest from British companies looking to exhibit at international shows, including Global Pet Expo 2027 in Orlando and Spoga Dog in Cologne.
Nigel Baker, chief executive, said: “The UK pet industry has a strong reputation for quality, innovation and expertise; we want to ensure businesses have access to the opportunities, connections and support they need to succeed internationally.
“We are having some exciting conversations with organisations around the world and are keen to understand where UK businesses see the greatest opportunities for growth. Our aim is to help members navigate international markets and ensure the UK pet industry has a strong voice on the global stage.”
