Nestlé Purina Petcare Europe has relaunched and expanded its Gourmet Perle product line across Europe to meet increasing consumer demand for premium wet cat food.

The business has introduced the updated range into stores across 30 national markets, including the UK, France, Italy, and Germany.

The product update features a redesigned packaging layout and a new line extension called Ocean Flakes.

The manufacturer is supporting the product rollout with a marketing initiative titled the Shine Like a Pearl campaign.

The company manufactures selected items in the updated range using fish sourced from Marine Stewardship Council certified fisheries.

Premium wet cat food is among the fastest growing retail sectors globally, recording a value growth rate of 6% as European cat numbers reach 108m.

Elisa Riboldi, chief marketing officer, said: “With Gourmet Perle, we’ve always focused on the details that matter – from carefully prepared recipes to textures cats love. This relaunch, brought to life through our ‘Shine Like a Pearl’ campaign, builds on that heritage, combining quality ingredients, daily craftsmanship and innovations like Ocean Flakes to create a more refined mealtime experience.

“At the same time, we know owners want greater transparency about where ingredients come from. By introducing recipes made with fish from MSC-certified fisheries, we’re helping make responsible sourcing easier to recognize as part of everyday feeding.”
