Fuzzball has announced that its business has grown by more than 300% in the past year, which it said comes as pet owners are increasingly prioritising nutritious food and shifting away from low-meat, filler-heavy options.

The cat food subscription service additionally reported sales increased 220% for its best-selling wet food flavours, Mackerel and Squid and Mackerel and Shrimp, over the last nine months.

Established in 2023 by three friends, Fuzzball produces seven grain-free recipes that contain 100% real meat and 21% protein content and offers 20+ products across wet food, dry food, treats and organic tofu cat litter.

With the support of feline nutritionists and veterinary experts, the company has developed an algorithm called the Cat Calorie Calculator to create tailored feeding plans for cats based on their age, weight, activity level and body condition to combat feline obesity.

The brand said it is building on its product offering with a new range of treat flavours later this month, available exclusively to current subscribers, and enhancing the calculator with added features and tweaks to offer greater precision

Eli Wachsmann, co-founder of Fuzzball, said: “Fuzzball was born from frustration with the status quo, and to challenge the mainstream pet food industry to do better. Our unique Cat Calorie Calculator addresses what is now the single largest health issue affecting cats in the UK: feline obesity.

“With overweight and obese cats facing increased risks of diabetes, joint problems and a reduced lifespan, this part of our subscription service plays a vital role in helping owners take a proactive, informed approach to their cat’s diet and wellbeing, whilst ensuring their “obligate carnivore” is getting the nutrition it needs.”

He added: “As a business, we have entered 2026 with strong momentum and an ambitious vision for continued growth. We are focused on welcoming many more “Fuzzballers” – cats and their owners – into the fold, helping them transition to a happier, healthier life, powered by proper feline nutrition.

“With ongoing product innovation, an expanding subscriber base and a passionate community of cat-loving customers, Fuzzball is well-positioned to continue its mission: ensuring every cat in the UK has access to the quality food they deserve.”
