London-based Waita Pets has launched four new freeze-dried treats for cats and dogs, utilising novel proteins and organ meats to provide bioavailable animal nutrition.

The new range includes pigeon neck, goose trachea, ostrich liver, and beef kidney. These products utilise freeze-drying technology, a process that removes moisture from raw ingredients at low temperatures to preserve natural enzymes, vitamins, and minerals without the use of high-heat processing or artificial preservatives.

This method results in a shelf-stable product that maintains the nutritional profile of raw food.

The formulations are developed based on species-appropriate diets, focusing on the specific biological requirements of dogs and cats.

The pigeon neck and goose trachea varieties provide natural sources of calcium, phosphorus, and chondroitin for joint and dental support.

The ostrich liver offers a hypoallergenic option for pets with sensitivities, while the beef kidney is included for its concentration of iron, selenium, and B vitamins.

All ingredients are 100% natural and sourced from verified suppliers to ensure raw material freshness.

The company’s approach emphasises transparency and the removal of additives or colouring.

The new varieties are designed to be used as functional treats or meal toppers, providing a concentrated source of protein and essential fatty acids.

Bolun Li, co-founder of Waita Pets, said: “Our product development is grounded in research and a commitment to nutritional integrity. We studied species-appropriate diets, focusing on the nutritional needs of dogs and cats. This involved reviewing scientific literature on raw and freeze-dried feeding, consulting veterinary nutrition guidelines, and analysing ingredient functionality to ensure our formulations deliver balanced, bioavailable nutrients.”
