Animal Trust has announced a £1.5m investment in a new veterinary hospital in Teesside, aimed at improving access to affordable and high-quality care for pet owners across the North East.
The not-for-profit organisation said the purpose-built facility will provide general practice, emergency and referral services. It will include advanced diagnostic equipment, dedicated surgical suites and a 24-hour accident and emergency department.
Owen Monie, founder of Animal Trust, said: “We believe every pet deserves access to high-quality care, regardless of their owner’s financial circumstances. Our new Teesside hospital reflects that belief. We provide a full range of comprehensive care, and our hospitals see a large number of surgical in-patient cases, often pets whose owners have struggled to get help elsewhere due to cost barriers.
“Our not-for-profit structure means that quality care doesn’t have to be expensive. We’re looking for vets who share our commitment to making a real difference. This is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of a movement that puts patients first.”

Animal Trust, which operates a network of veterinary hospitals across the UK, said the investment would support both patient services and professional development for veterinary teams.
