Vetopia, one of Europe’s “fastest-growing” veterinary groups, is set to launch in the UK this autumn with the appointment of Ben Hanning MRCVS as country chief executive.
Hanning, a veterinary professional with experience in clinical practice, operational leadership and multi-site management, will oversee the group’s UK expansion. He has previously led organisations in the veterinary and dental sectors, including laboratory services.
The group, which operates more than 200 practices across seven countries, will introduce a UK-specific brand as part of its entry. Each practice will retain its independence and culture while drawing on Vetopia’s wider European network, resources and collaborative framework.
Vetopia said it is now open to discussions with veterinary professionals and practice owners interested in partnership opportunities.
Hanning said: “Veterinary professionals are under more pressure than ever – and I’ve lived that reality. Vetopia’s UK launch is about creating a new way forward: empowering vets to focus on exceptional care while giving them the support, resources and ownership opportunities that they deserve.”
Peter Thomsen, group chief executive at Vetopia, added: “Vetopia’s success across Europe shows that veterinary excellence thrives when clinicians lead the way. Our country-led model combines local decision-making with the benefits of being part of a larger network. We are delighted to have an experienced and values-driven leader like Ben guiding our UK launch.”
