UK-based pet food company Petto Smart Nutrition has launched a new range of baked, high-protein plant-based dog treats.
The treats contain no meat protein, and instead are packed with human-grade plant and insect high protein recipes that aim to provide “top quality” nutrition for dogs.
Petto Smart Nutrition dog treats have been designed by super foods experts and tailored by pet nutritionists.
They are slowly baked in a real bakery, are hypoallergenic, and come in eco-friendly recyclable packaging.
Petto Smart Nutrition currently offers four different varieties of treats for adult dogs.
The Plant based range features Jump and Run treats which contain carrots, coconut oil and turmeric for joint care
The Kiss Me Again treats come with peppermint, sweet potato and blueberry to tackle bad breath
Additionally, the plant and insect based range includes Take It Easy treats which are made with crickets, camomile and pumpkin to calm and relax pets. The Let’s Do It treats contain crickets, cashews and cranberries for a boost of energy.
Co-founder Eduardo Salazar said: “It is our passion to make a difference in dog’s diets while helping to preserve the planet, so the launch of our Petto Smart Nutrition dog treats range is just the start of this journey, with more products due to be launched in the near future.
“We know people will treat their dogs and we felt there had to be a way of making treats that are a healthier alternative. My dog Maya, a 12-year-old Labrador retriever, is our chief product tester and she loves our Petto treats, and we know that all dogs benefit from a high-protein diet, and it’s reassuring to know that our dog treats are particularly protein-rich.”
