Denzel’s, the healthy snack brand for dogs, has launched a “special” Valentine’s treat in over 300 Tesco stores and specialist pet shops nationwide.

Founded by Nathan Perry and James Lacy, the business launched in 2018 with initial funding from Virgin StartUp, and recently took on investment from Holly Branson and a “handful” of strategic investors.

Made with peanut butter, strawberries and carob the new recipe, which is also vegan, will be available until 14 February.

The brand said with 31% of dog owners preferring to spend Valentine’s day with their dog, Denzel’s new limited-edition snacks are suitable for all dogs aged 12 weeks and over.

Each pouch contains approximately 60 low-calorie rewards and come in plastic-free and home compostable pouches. The brand said it promises the eco-friendly packs will naturally break down in weeks not centuries, unlike single-use plastics.
