The PetQuip Awards 2021 are set to reward outstanding achievements within the pet industry during the pandemic.

The international trade association of pet equipment supplier’s annual award show will recognise two new categories – ‘Innovation in Lockdown’ and ‘Community Projects During a Crisis’.

Both awards are open to everyone in the pet industry, with the ‘Innovation in Lockdown’ prize celebrating a new service and product which made an impact while ‘Community Projects During a Crisis’ covers businesses involved in retailing, manufacturing and grooming.

Entries must present what their product and project was during the pandemic, emphasising what their thoughts were behind it and explaining what was achieved.

Pat Flynn, PetQuip’s trade association manager, said the awards evening will be the first major pet focussed networking events in 18 months, “bringing the pet industry together to purely focus on pet issues”.

He added: “Why not highlight some of the fun inventions from lockdown (Innovations in Lockdown) or reward the terrific work in communities driven by the pet world (Community Projects during a Crisis).”
