Cat trapped in three inch gap in house rescued

A Cambridgeshire cat has been rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in a three inch hole in the wall of a house.

The cat had to be cut out of the hole by firefighters who sawed through brickwork, after he could not be coaxed or tugged out.

Cotton, the cat in question became stuck on Silver Street in Willingham at 12:30pm on Tuesday, before being rescued unharmed..

A spokesperson from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “After discussing options, the caring crew were given permission to make a hole in the wall to free the feline.”

On Facebook the fire service said “cat-astrophe averted and a paws-itive result for everyone”.
