The Pet Care Trust has announced plans for the biggest ever British Dog Grooming Championship and the launch of a new consumer dog show called ‘Paws at Bingley’.

Following on from the success of last year’s British Dog Grooming Championship, which saw a record number of competitors taking part, the Pet Care Trust aims to attract even more entrants and visitors in 2013.

“We’re really excited about this year’s British Dog Grooming Championship. We are looking to build on the buzz from 2012 and offer more opportunities and incentives for groomers to showcase their talents,” said Heidi Anderton, chair of the Grooming Committee.

“The prospect of incorporating this year’s competition with ‘Paws at Bingley’ will allow members of the public to see some of the UK’s finest dog groomers at work. We hope it will also raise the profile of the grooming industry and encourage more members of the public to use professional dog groomers to help care for their pet.”

Seminar programmes will take place at the event aimed at both professional groomers looking to learn new skills and members of the public looking at caring for the family pet.

The event will take place at Bingley Hall, Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, 6 October.
