Forthglade sponsors guide dog puppy

Devon based natural pet food firm, Forthglade, is sponsoring its very own guide dog puppy. Guide Dogs was named Forthglade’s leading charity this year. The pet food company hopes to raise awareness of the organisation.

Ruby, a flat coated retriever, is the newest addition to the Forthglade family. The company will be eagerly watching her progress and development as she trains to become an official guide dog.

Forthglade has also been busy making a number of short films to help promote the Guide Dog’s great work. The company recently ran a national competition to search for a young wannabe TV presenter. The winning entrant was Grace a 10-year old from Sunderland who felt she had the X-Factor.

The Centre can breed up to 1500 puppies a year and be home to 200 puppies on site at any one time. The state of the art Centre is essential to the future of the Guide Dogs charity as it’s where the teams work hard to improve all aspects of the breeding programme.

“Grace helped us film newborn puppies, capture puppy health checks and interview guide dog trainers.  She didn’t even flinch when dozens of excitable puppies nibbled her hair and tried to pinch her script and glasses,” said Rebecca Caradine from Forthglade.

As a special treat Grace and the camera crew were lucky enough to meet Forthglade’s own guide dog pup Ruby, who just happened to be on site preparing for her departure to her Puppy Walker the very next day. The short film will be shared across social media in July. Visit www.forthglade.com for more information.
