Croydon-based pet supplement and pet food company Broadreach Nature has teamed up with pet accessory company Collard Creatures and pet grooming product company Aqueos to get people out walking their dogs in the winter months.
‘Walk Your Dog Month’ is an international initiative designed to “dust off those January blues” and get people out and about, to meet other dog walkers and improve their own and their dogs’ well being.
Anne Wood, founder of Broadreach Nature, said: “During the winter months your dog’s immune system may be lowered, so keep an eye on his general health. If he is older or arthritic, he may find this time of year quite challenging, so if any doubt, speak to your vet.
“There are also great ranges of natural supplements on the market that cater specifically for skin and joint health and at Broadreach Nature we have developed a range that can deal with every condition from improving the digestion, immune system, skin, coat and joint care.”
She added: “Some dogs tend to be less active in winter, so take care not to overfeed. If they spend most to their time in your warm house they won’t need the extra calories to keep warm. Keep an eye on your dog’s weight and adjust its feed accordingly.
“If your dog is active and spending the winter months outdoors, then feed them a little extra as they will need more energy in the colder weather.”
