Nutravet has launched Nutraplaque purée for cats, a dental care product designed to manage plaque, soften tartar, and reduce bad breath.
The launch coincides with Pet Dental Health Month in February, an annual initiative highlighting that approximately 70% of cats show signs of dental disease by age three.
The product contains North Atlantic seaweed and is administered systemically through the body rather than acting solely on the tooth surface.
The purée format is designed for high palatability to increase compliance in cats that resist traditional oral care methods.
According to Nutravet, improvements in plaque and breath quality are typically observed within three to eight weeks of continuous use. The product is intended to be used alongside regular tooth brushing to maintain oral hygiene.
The purée is now available for order by authorised veterinary stockists.
Lianne O’Boyle, clinical lead at Nutravet, said: “We are delighted to expand our range with a product that addresses one of the most common health concerns in pets – oral health. The new Nutraplaque purée combines efficacy with a new innovative purée format to increase compliance for cats – making it simple for pet owners to support their pet’s oral health every day, without stress or resistance.”
