WHM Pet has donated rabbit feed and £100 to Rabbit Rescue Northwest, a charity that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes domestic rabbits across the region.

The donation followed a competition run in Best4Bunny Magazine, in which readers were invited to nominate rabbit rescues to receive support from the pet feed manufacturer.

The winning reader chose to pass her prize to her local charity, Rabbit Rescue Northwest.

WHM Pet, which produces feeds under the Marriage’s brand, said the donation included a supply of adult rabbit pellets alongside the cash contribution.

Rabbit Rescue Northwest operates through a network of volunteer foster carers and has no paid staff. The charity relies entirely on donations, with all rescued rabbits cared for in volunteers’ homes while they are rehabilitated and rehomed.

The charity was also named Animal Charity of the Year at the Animal Star Awards 2025.

Simon Smethurst, at WHM Pet, said: “Supporting the health and wellbeing of companion animals is at the core of what we do. Rabbit Rescue Northwest’s compassionate work ensures vulnerable rabbits receive the care and second chances they deserve.”

Jess Wood, at Rabbit Rescue Northwest, added: “Every winter, we brace ourselves for a surge of rabbits dumped, often bought as impulsive Christmas gifts and abandoned when the novelty wears off.”
