Specialist cat-sitting service My Three Cats has expanded into Blackpool, launching its first franchise territory as demand for feline-only, in-home care continues to grow.
The new franchise will cover Blackpool and the Fylde coast and will be operated by Rachel Wrigley, alongside her husband Adam and son Sam. The family will provide cat-focused care designed to reduce stress and reflect feline behaviour, rather than using mixed or dog-led pet services.
My Three Cats was founded in Warrington in 2017 by Wendy Thomson Melling and is now run alongside her daughter Eloise. The business has grown to an 18-strong team and introduced franchising in September 2025 as a way to meet rising demand for at-home cat care.
The company said it has received strong interest since opening its franchise model, reflecting both sustained growth in the specialist feline care market and increasing interest in flexible, purpose-led work within the pet services sector.
The expansion follows a year of increased profile for the business, including multiple industry awards, a BBC podcast appearance and a speaking slot at Cat Show Live. These activities have supported its Cats Deserve More campaign, which aims to highlight the specific welfare needs of cats.
Thomson Melling said: “There are an estimated 12 million cats living in the UK, yet many pet services remain primarily dog-focused. More cat owners are actively seeking in-home care that reduces stress and respects feline behaviour.”
She added that the franchise model was designed to allow experienced carers to deliver services locally while building their own businesses.
Wrigley was selected to run the Blackpool territory based on her experience with cats and local knowledge of the area. She lives with seven cats and has a background in cat ownership, adoption and fostering, which the company said aligned closely with its feline-first approach.
