Burgess Pet Care has been named international business of the year at the Yorkshire Post Business Awards 2025, recognising the company’s expanding overseas reach and continued focus on animal nutrition and welfare.

The family-run manufacturer, which specialises in small-animal care, has reported rising demand for its tailored nutrition ranges across key global markets. The business said its growth has been supported by market insight, local partnerships and an emphasis on product quality.

In the past 12 months the firm has increased export sales under its international strategy. It was also named leading small animal and reptile brand at PetFair Asia earlier this year, strengthening its profile in global pet care markets.

Kerry-Ann, international marketing executive at Burgess Pet Care, said: “This award is a huge honour and a testament to the team’s hard work and passion. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our approach recognised, not only in how we grow as a business, but in how we support pet welfare around the world.”

Suzanne Moyes, deputy managing director, added: “We’re proud to be flying the flag for Yorkshire pet food and to see our values resonate with customers around the world. This award is recognition of our long-term vision and the people behind it, from our team in Yorkshire to our international partners.”

Burgess Pet Care is an independent business with over 300 years of history.
