Pet Sustainability Coalition launches benchmark assessment
While the benchmark is open to all, PSC members receive a free one-on-one session to review results, prioritise next steps, and identify opportunities for deeper engagement

The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) has announced the launch of its annual benchmark assessment, designed to help pet industry businesses understand where they stand on sustainability.
The new tool will be open to any kind of business in the industry, such as ingredient suppliers, manufacturers, brands, retailers, and service providers.
This benchmark offers a strategic foundation to assess and enhance environmental, social, and governance practices across the sector, supporting responsible business growth.
The benchmark assessment is a series of multiple choice and short answer questions accessible via an online link.
It asks questions related to sustainability strategy, environmental reporting, materials and products, governance, workforce, value chain, and customer engagement.
While the benchmark is open to all, PSC members receive a free one-on-one session to review results, prioritise next steps, and identify opportunities for deeper engagement.
Created specifically for pet businesses, the benchmark aligns with leading global frameworks and guidance, including the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
Jim Lamancusa, CEO of PSC, said: “We know that building a more sustainable pet industry takes all of us. Our new benchmark is designed to make it easier for every company to understand their sustainability efforts and take meaningful next steps. We’re proud to open this tool to the entire pet community because real progress only happens when we work together.”
