Dechra has taken on the distribution of Porus One and Add One supplements that support long-term kidney health in cats.

Porus One contains renaltec, a selective absorber that soaks up precursors of uraemia toxins in the cat’s intestines that would “ordinarily be removed or regulated by healthy kidneys”.

It contains a collection of miniature spheres covered in microscopic pores that pass “harmlessly through a cat’s gut, bind to the toxins and are safely excreted through faeces”.

The product is presented as a powder which can be sprinkled on wet cat food, or given with Add One as a treat.

Dechra claimed that it is well-accepted by cats due to its “neutral” taste and smell.

Add One, on the other hand, is a “moist” and “tasty” cat treat developed to encourage cats to eat Porus One.

It is also useful for cats that prefer dry food and is available in salmon and liver flavours.

Add One contains omega-3 and a high moisture content to help support kidney health. It also contains taurine to support a cat’s eyes and heart.
