Natures Menu ups investment in new Norfolk factory to £16m

Natures Menu has announced it has upped investment from just under £13m to £16m as it adds more machinery.

Managing director Craig Taylor said that within five years it expects to see the new facility help to double the company’s £40m turnover and grow its workforce, which will already increase to 220 from 70 with the help of the new factory.

The new factory will become ‘the largest raw pet food factory in Europe’ once it is fully completed.

Taylor told media: “We chose this site because of the infrastructure and the location for logistics. Being on the A11 is a boost for us as a business that needs to get out of Norfolk.

“The pet food market is worth £2.8bn in the UK and is growing at 16% year-on-year. Our business has high double-digit growth and we want to continue to push those numbers.”

Natures Menu’s factory will become one of the most significant investments in a Norfolk site for a decade.

The factory currently features a £3m freeze drying machine and intends to purchase an additional machine at a later date.
